Smart AV were approached by one of their oldest customers, Tewinbury countryside hotel and events centre, to design and install a new luxury cinema and conference facility in a new building, within beautifully tended gardens, on the banks of the river Mimram.

Having designed conference facilities for this particular customer for over a quarter of a century, Smart AV were the obvious partner to realise this particularly special project.
When designing an audio-visual system for a private cinema room, that also has to function as a conference facility, the first challenge is finding a projector with the fidelity to faithfully reproduce cinema quality images, but also bright enough to facilitate the needs of a conference on a bright sunny day. Fortunately, Epson had just the product, a new HDR capable laser projector with interchangeable lenses. The latter feature allowing Smart AV to discreetly place the projector at the rear of the room, thus reducing its visual impact upon its luxurious surroundings.
For conferences the system provides simple, easy to use, laptop connections via HDMI cable or wireless Clickshare Buttons. The accompanying radio microphones, with automatic gain control, are simple to use and provide clear intelligible voice projection during full-capacity events.
Aside from the lavish surroundings and well-stocked private bar, the most thrilling aspect of this particular cinema is the JBL sound system, boasting Dolby and DTS surround processing, over 10,000 watts of amplification and two mighty twin 18” JBL cinema subwoofers neatly hidden by the construction company within the front wall of the room. The impact of all of these carefully selected and tuned components is simply breath-taking, the sound easily surpassing any local cinema for sonic fidelity and scale.
Cosseted by one of the many giant beanbags, or reclining in a comfortable arm chair within the stylish furnishings of this bespoke cinema, one can enjoy both Blu-ray movies and streamed content with friends, family, or colleagues and all at the touch of a button, thanks to a remarkably simple and reliable custom control system.
